Another fantastic Manitoba winter is very slowly letting go of its grip. We have had snow, snow, and more snow. We want to thank all those amazing individuals and businesses that helped make this a fun skating season on the Icelandic River Skating Trail. While the heavy snow pack and natural springs in the river ruined the long skating trail, it was still a great skating season. Even the Zamboni dropping through the ice, didn’t stop us! It takes a village…
A huge thank you to:
Arborg Home Hardware – warm-up shed
Corey Bardarson – mechanical repair
Interlake Co-op – fuel card
Ron Johnston – snow clearing
Shachtay Sales & Service (Mike) – skid steer
Silverline Towing (Darrell Johnson) – hauling Zamboni
Town of Arborg – solar light
Ventrix Heating & Ventilation (Todd) – snow clearing
Victor Cantor – mechanical repair
Weik Construction (Bryson Weik) – rescuing Zamboni from river!
Thank you once again to Diemo, Romafa, Swivel, and Vidir Solutions for the Zamboni.
Sorry if we missed someone. We estimate that the actual cost of maintaining the skating trail is $10,000 - $15,000 annually and yet… this community does it with hardly a dime of tax money!
Thank you to each and everyone of you. You gave Arborg a unique and beautiful postcard look and quality. Enjoy your spring and summer everyone.
